The Dodgers designated pitcher Scott Erickson for assignment on Friday and optioned backup catcher Mike Rose to Triple-A Las Vegas. Replacing them on the 25-man roster are right-hander Jonathan Broxton, whose contract was purchased from Double-A Jacksonville, and switch-hitting catcher Dioner Navarro, who was recalled from Las Vegas. The 37-year-old Erickson was 1-4 with a 6.02 ERA in 19 appearances, including eight starts. The 14-year veteran, who helped lead the Minnesota Twins to a World Series title in 1991 with a 20-8 record, was demoted to the bullpen on May 22 after going 1-4 with a 7.22 ERA. He allowed one earned run in 11 2/3 innings over his last seven outings.
