The AL Central-leading Detroit Tigers, in an effort to bolster its weakest link for a World Series run, are finalizing a trade to acquire closer Kyle Finnegan from the Washington Nationals for two minor leaguers, sources told ESPN's Jeff Passan on Thursday.

Finnegan is the second veteran reliever added by the Tigers in the last 24 hours, joining Paul Sewald, who was acquired from the Cleveland Guardians late Wednesday night.
