The White Sox purchased the contract of Luis Terrero from Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday and immediately put him in their lineup in center field against the Mariners.
Terrero, who can play all three outfield positions, took the roster spot created when Chicago finally sent struggling Brian Anderson to Charlotte after Sunday's loss to the Los Angeles Angels. Anderson lost the center-field job to Darin Erstad in spring training and is batting .118 this season (2-for-17) after hitting .225 in 134 games as a rookie last year.
