Nestor Cortes will likely be on the New York Yankees' roster for Game 1 of the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday night.

Cortes landed on the injured list with an elbow flexor strain on Sept. 25.

"I think there's a good chance of it," Aaron Boone said Monday.

Cortes' availability is predicated on him emerging healthy from a bullpen session Tuesday. The left-hander threw a 20-pitch live bullpen session Saturday in Cleveland before Game 5 of the ALCS.

Cortes, 29, posted a 3.77 ERA in 31 games during the regular season.
