The New York Mets and Oakland Athletics set a record on Thursday night, playing the longest game in the pitch-clock era (non-extra innings).

The game lasted three hours and 45 minutes and finished with the A's winning 7-6.

The previous mark was held by the San Diego Padres-San Francisco Giants game in Mexico City last year that lasted three hours and 44 minutes.

The pitch clock was implemented at the Major League level before the 2023 season.
