The Philadelphia Phillies held 2-0 and 3-2 series leads against the Arizona Diamondbacks in the NLCS, but stumbled in Game 7 at home on Tuesday night.
"We underachieved as a team," Nick Castellanos said. "It's a frustrating way for the season to end."
Castellanos went 0 for his last 20 at-bats over the final six games of the series.
"It's not that we're not good enough to win," J.T. Realmuto said. "We just have to finish the job and play a little better. They played better than we did the last few days."
After they scored 10 runs in Game 2, the Phillies scored a total of four runs in three of their losses.
