The Houston Astros have announced that Michael Brantley began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Sugar Land as he looks to return from right shoulder surgery.

Brantley, 36, hasn't played in a Major League game since June 26, 2022 and he's had multiple setbacks in his recovery from the shoulder surgery.

He started a rehab assignment in May and was shut down after there was inflammation in his shoulder. Then he started taking batting practice in June and had to stop in July due to further issues.
