Adrian Houser has confirmed that he'll begin the season in the bullpen for the Milwaukee Brewers.

Houser was in the mix for a spot in the starting rotation, but the club has gotten through most of the spring healthy.

"The goal, frankly, was (using Houser in relief) because it means that we were healthy in the other spots," Craig Counsell said. "We are in a good spot there. We're trending toward that. We're not there yet but we're trending toward that. (Houser) has been out far enough where we're in a good spot either way and that's what we were hoping for."

Houser, 30, has started in 47 of his last 50 Major League appearances.
