Shohei Ohtani arrived home in Tokyo this week and was critical of the Los Angeles Angels missing the playoffs yet again.

Once again in the MVP conversation, Ohtani said it was "a good season for me personally."

Even with Ohtani and Mike Trout, the Angels endured a seventh-straight losing season and missed the postseason for an eighth-straight year.

"I have to say that August and September in particular felt longer to me than last year," Ohtani said. "We were not able to play as many good games as we would like -- including 14 consecutive losses. So I have a rather negative impression of this season."

Ohtani has already agreed to a $30 million deal with the Angels for the 2023 season, his final year before free agency.
