The Miami Marlins interviewed Houston Astros bench coach Joe Espada for their managerial job on Wednesday, according to a report.

The Marlins announced in September that Don Mattingly wouldn't return for the 2023 season after seven years.

The Astros had a scheduled day off Wednesday between Games 1 and 2 of the ALDS against the Seattle Mariners, allowing Espada, 47, to interview with the Marlins.
