The Los Angeles Angels have placed Jared Walsh on the injured list with thoracic outlet syndrome on his left side.

It hasn't yet been determined whether Walsh will need surgery or if he'll return this season.

"We've been running some tests over the last couple days we've been here in St. Pete, and we just decided right now is the time to shut him down and see if we can't get to the bottom of this a little more," trainer Mike Frostad said. "We're still trying to sort through some of the details. Before we came on the trip, he kind of expressed some concerns to us. We'll have more information next week."

Walsh has struggled this season, hitting .215/.269/.374 in 118 games.
