Wynton Bernard made his Major League debut with the Rockies on Friday night after a 10-year journey through the minor leagues.

Bernard was batting eighth and playing center field for the Rockies against the Diamondbacks at Coors Field.

"Two years ago, I was literally in Independent ball, just finding my way out. Just praying every night that something good would happen. And it did," an emotional Bernard told reporters before the game.

The 31-year-old Bernard has played in 863 minor league games for four different organizations over 10 seasons.
