Huston Street made $338,635 last year, not much above the major-league minimum. Sometime in the next month or two, the A's third-year closer is likely to become a multi-millionaire. Street said his representatives, Alan and Randy Hendricks, already have had some preliminary talks with general manager Billy Beane, although, he said, "To my knowledge, no dollar figures have been exchanged.'' He's all in favor of a deal that would take him through his arbitration years, much the way the A's wrapped up many of their other young stars. "I've said all along, if there's a deal that makes sense for both sides, I'd be foolish not to explore it,'' Street said. "If there's a deal that works, why not? We just have to find the numbers.''
