The Boston Red Sox are preparing to add a pair of pitchers back into their starting rotation.

Alex Cora told reporters Tuesday that Chris Sale is scheduled to pitch five innings in a rehabilitation start for Triple-A Worcester on Wednesday. If all goes well, Sale could be called up next week.

Cora also mentioned that Nathan Eovaldi threw two live innings against hitters on Tuesday from the Fenway Park mound.

"Stuffwise," the manager said, "it was really good."

Eovaldi, 4-2 with a 3.16 ERA and 72 strikeouts, was placed on the 15-day injured list with lower back inflammation back on June 9.
