The Toronto Blue Jays have lost Hyun Jin Ryu for the remainder of the season.

The left-hander will undergo elbow surgery, according to Ross Atkins.

It's not yet known whether Ryu needs Tommy John surgery or a partial repair, but he'll miss the rest of 2022 regardless.

Ryu has a 5.67 ERA in 27 innings this season.
