Stephen Strasburg will make his 2022 debut for the Washington Nationals on Thursday against the Miami Marlins.

Davey Martinez announced the decision after Strasburg threw one last side session in his rehabilitation process.

"I'm not going to put any limitations on him," Martinez said. "We'll see how far we can take him. We'll keep a close eye on him, but this is one of the reasons why we wanted him to go through what he did and to make sure that he's fully ready."

Strasburg, the 2019 World Series MVP, has pitched a total of 26 2/3 Major League innings since the start of the 2020 season.
