Eduardo Escobar tripled in the ninth inning on Monday night to complete the cycle, becoming the first member of the New York Mets to do so in 10 years.

Escobar singled in the first inning, doubled in the fourth and homered in the eighth. The last Met to accomplish the feat was Scott Hairston in 2012. Escobar is also the first player from any club to do so at Petco Park.

"It's unbelievable," said Escobar, who finished 4-for-5 with six RBIs in the Mets’ 11-5 win over the San Diego Padres. "It's hard, hitting the cycle at this level. Today is a special night for me."
