Max Scherzer rushed to be with his wife after tossing a five-hit, complete game against the Miami Marlins on Sunday.

Scherzer hustled out of Nationals Park after a game that took only 2 hours, 37 minutes, hurrying to be with wife Erica for the birth of their third child.

"We knew going into it. That's why we tried to make it a quick game," Yan Gomes joked.

The right-hander struck out nine without a walk and hit a batter while throwing 106 pitches.
