The Chicago White Sox have qualified for the postseason for the first time in 12 years.

The White Sox defeated the Minnesota Twins 4-3 on Thursday, clinching their first berth since 2008.

Chicago is the first American League club to clinch a spot in the expanded postseason.

"For me, that was a really special moment," Eloy Jimenez said. "It's really fun, you know. At the beginning of the year, I would have been disappointed if we didn't make the playoffs. Now, we've made it, and we have to continue to play hard and win our division."
