The Chicago Cubs are 12-3 this season, their best 15-game start since 1970.

"I mean, I've got a good team," first-year manager David Ross said. "That's what it is. We've got good players."

Ross has preached about being positive and energetic.

"There is nothing to complain about because the talent's there, the character's there, the commitment, the focus, the energy, the work," he said. "It's not easy, especially in the environment we're dealing with now. I've got really good players, man.

"I just put them in the lineup and I start trying to cheerlead them on. They're really good."
