The Major League Baseball Players Association is putting together a proposal for a season with 89 games, a full prorated share of salary and expanded postseason, according to a source.
It would seem to bring the two sides closer together as the MLBPA's last proposal called for a 114-game season.
MLB proposed on Monday a 76-game season that would cover up to 75% of players' prorated salaries.
Under the MLBPA proposal, the season would start on July 10 and end Oct. 11.
