Major League Baseball and the players' union held a multihour meeting on Tuesday to address the complex issues facing a restart of the sport amid the coronavirus pandemic.

However, the discussion didn't involve any economic components pertaining to player compensation, according to sources.

The issues addressed included timing and logistics for a second spring training, potential rule changes, roster sizes and transaction rules. COVID-19 testing protocols, including contact tracing and response procedures in case of positive tests, were discussed as well.
