Rob Manfred told Major League employees this week that he expects baseball to return in 2020.

"I fully anticipate baseball will return this season," Manfred said.

In an e-mail to team employees Manfred did, however, write "it is very difficult to predict with any accuracy the timeline for resumption of our season."
