Luis Rojas is close to being named the next manager of the New York Mets.

Brodie Van Wagenen said Wednesday that the club is nearing an agreement with Rojas.

"I think it's the fit. It's where the team is. I think it's the culture we're trying to create," Van Wagenen said.

The 38-year-old would replace Carlos Beltran, who parted ways with the Mets last week after he was named as a key participant in the 2017 Houston Astros' sign-stealing scandal.
