With a new labor agreement on the horizon, Major League Baseball is looking to cut nearly a quarter of minor league franchises.
Rob Manfred addressed the issue on Thursday, using four talking points:
- So-called "inadequate facilities"
- Untenable travel due to franchise relocation
- "Poor pay for minor leaguers"
- Drafting and signing players who "don't have a realistic opportunity to make it to the majors"
