Shohei Ohtani hit for the cycle Thursday night in the Los Angeles Angels' 5-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Ohtani became the first Japanese-born player to hit for the cycle in Major League Baseball.

"People were talking about it. It's not like a no-hitter when no one mentions it,'' Brad Ausmus said. "We forget how young he is. He's in a new country, his second year here. He's 24 years old. He carries a lot on his shoulders, but he still stands pretty tall.''

Ohtani is the seventh different Angels player to hit for the cycle and the first since Mike Trout in 2013.
