The New York Mets have struggled over the first quarter of the season and are now changing course on some strategies.

They will now use closer Edwin Diaz in multi-inning save situations, something they stated they wouldn't do back in April.

The previous decision was presumably to keep Diaz healthy and limit his innings early on.

In 18.2 innings in 2019, Diaz has 28 Ks, a 1.93 ERA and 11 saves.
