The Chicago Cubs have decided not to protest Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Washington Nationals.

Joe Maddon had argued that Nationals reliever Sean Doolittle used an illegal delivery in the ninth inning of the game and said that he was playing under protest. The Cubs then had 24 hours to submit an official grievance to the league, but they decided not to.

The double toe-tap Doolittle appeared to use as he delivered the ball to home plate has been deemed illegal in the past.

"You're trying to delineate what is right and what is wrong. In my mind it wasn't a judgment call. I thought it was black and white," Maddon said.
