In an interview with the New York Daily News, Reggie Jackson weighed in on the possibility of the Yankees signing Manny Machado.

Much has been made about Machado's admitted lack of hustle on the field.

Jackson said Machado's lack of hustle "ain't gonna play here [in New York]."

"I was a pretty good player and I ran hard every single at-bat," he continued. "It takes talent to run fast, but it doesn't take talent to run hard. Effort is the least we can ask of ourselves."

Machado is expected to land a contract in the 10-year, $300 million range.
