Clayton Kershaw struggled in his first-ever appearance at Fenway Park in Game 1 of the World Series, allowing five runs on seven hits in just four innings against the Red Sox.

Kershaw felt the effect of Fenway once he took to the bullpen mound to warm up on Tuesday night.

"Brutal. Pretty brutal," pitching coach Rick Honeycutt said of the bullpens in Boston. "What I don't understand is why baseball allows it. You've got the rubber right there and people literally standing over you."
