The Washington Nationals are fighting to finish above .500 this season, but Dave Martinez is likely to return in 2019.

"I haven't considered any other scenario," Mike Rizzo said when asked if Martinez would return as manager.

Martinez was signed to a three-year deal after the Nationals parted ways with Dusty Baker.

"Honestly, I've never worried about my job. I never did," Martinez said. "We talk every day, and [Rizzo] has been awesome. Ownership has been great. I talk to them. They've been good. There's not one moment where I've feared I'm going to lose my job."

Washington was expected to be a World Series contender this year.
