The Toronto Blue Jays will have a new manager next season, according to a source.

The decision is "99.9 percent done" and general manager Ross Atkins has been in contact with John Gibbons about the move, so it won't come as a surprise to the manager.

"We'll sit down after the year and see what direction we're going to go, myself included," said Gibbons, while Atkins declined to comment.

The Blue Jays will likely target a younger manager with an eye on contending in 2020 or 2021.

Gibbons is under contract for 2019 and will be paid regardless of whether or not he's managing.
