Major League Baseball circulated Shohei Otani's medical history when he was made available via Japan's posting system.

According to sources from two clubs, Otani underwent a platelet-rich plasma injection on his right elbow in October.

The injection has become a popular way to address a variety of elbow issues.

In recent years, it has been used by pitchers to treat inflammation and irritation or injuries as significant as strains or tears to the flexor tendon or ulnar collateral ligament.
