Mike Trout believes he could return ahead of schedule from a torn thumb ligament.

The Los Angeles Angels placed Trout on the disabled list on May 30 and issued a six-to-eight week timetable for his return. The All-Star Game is just inside the six-week window.

Trout, 25, is currently second among American League outfielders in All-Star voting.

He is hitting .337/.461/.742 this season with 14 doubles, two triples, 16 homers, 36 RBI, 36 runs and 10 stolen bases in 47 games.
