Edwin Diaz has been removed as the closer for the Seattle Mariners, who will use a committee going forward.

Scott Servais indicated that Diaz's demotion is not permanent, saying that the right-hander needs to make changes to his mechanics and that the club doesn't want him working on those adjustments during games.

Diaz has a 5.28 ERA and seven saves this season but has struggled of late, allowing five runs and three home runs over his past seven appearances.
