David Wright has been diagnosed with an impingement in his right shoulder and will not throw a baseball for "a couple of weeks," according to the New York Mets.

Wright was examined Tuesday at the Hospital for Special Surgery after feeling discomfort.

"What's happening here is that the muscles around the shoulder have not re-engaged since the surgery," Sandy Alderson said. "That's taking more time than anticipated."

Wright is owed $67 million over the next four seasons.
