New York Yankees prospect Alexander Figueredo was shot and killed in his native Venezuela on Nov. 27.
Figueredo, a 20-year-old left-hander, missed the entire 2016 season on the suspended/restricted list.
Figueredo was shot at a party in Guacara and died of multiple gunshot wounds, according to multiple sources.
As an 18-year-old in 2015, Figueredo went 5-0 with a 1.89 ERA in 12 games (11 starts) for the Yankees' team in the Dominican Summer League.
