The Los Angeles Dodgers will start rookie Andrew Toles in left field against the Washington Nationals in Game 1 of the NLDS on Friday evening.

"Is he starting?" Clayton Kershaw asked at his pre-start news conference. "That's awesome."

Starts against right-handed pitchers have become commonplace for Toles over the past six weeks and Max Scherzer is on the mound.

"It felt pretty good [to hear it]," Toles said. "I just want to stay focused and go out there and do my best really."
