The Arizona Diamondbacks have struggled to begin the season, including a 14-6 loss to the Chicago Cubs on Thursday night.

The Diamondbacks gave up 14 hits, walked 10 batters and made a series of defensive miscues.

"For me as manager and our coaching staff, it was embarrassing. That is the easiest way to put it," manager Chip Hale said. "We made some gaffes on defense that we worked so hard in spring training and we are close enough to spring training where we shouldn't make those mistakes."
