The D-Backs have hired Dave Magadan as their hitting coach, according to a Yahoo.com report

The 53-year-old Magadan spent the last three seasons as hitting coach of the Rangers. Before that, he was hitting coach for the Padres and Red Sox.

In Magadan's first year in Boston, 2007, the Red Sox won the World Series.
