Matt Holliday will not play in the All-Star Game because of the quadriceps injury that has sidelined the slugger for more than a month.

John Mozeliak announced Friday that Holliday would not be activated from the disabled list this weekend, making the left fielder ineligible to play in Tuesday's All-Star Game in Cincinnati.

Holliday has hit .303/.417/.421 for the St. Louis Cardinals this season.
