Matt Carpenter was very aggressive at the plate in the first two weeks of the season, attacking pitchers early in the count to great success.

Carpenter had a high walk rate during the 2014 season, but abandoned a patient approach during the playoffs and hit well. After beginning the season with an aggressive approach, Carpenter has settled in over the last two weeks.

The St. Louis Cardinals mainstay is now seeing about the same number of pitches he has throughout his career, but that doesn't mean he's no longer aggressive.

As Craig Edwards points out for FanGraphs, Carpenter is swinging at pitches in the strike zone more often than he has in any of the last three seasons.
