Rght-hander Jake Peavy was placed on the 15-day disabled list Saturday by the Giants due to a back strain, according to an ESPN.com report.

To fill Peavy's spot on the 25-man roster, the Giants recalled catcher Andrew Susac from Triple-A Sacramento prior to Saturday's win over the Diamondbacks.
