Don Mattingly will manage the Los Angeles Dodgers next season, according to recently-hired president Andrew Friedman.

Friedman was introduced in his new role on Friday and publicly gave Mattingly a vote of confidence.

He said Mattingly will "definitely" manage the club in 2015.

There has been speculation that Friedman would work to get Joe Maddon, who he had a great relationship with as an employee of the Tampa Bay Rays, to manage the Dodgers as soon as possible.

Maddon's contract expires after next season.
