The New York Mets haven't determined whether they will be a buyer or seller this summer, according to Sandy Alderson.

Even if the Mets decide to sell, Alderson said that Jonathon Niese isn't likely to be included in a trade.

"We like Jonathon. He's the only lefty in the rotation," Alderson said. "We'd be hard-pressed to trade Niese."

Alderson suggested that their course depends on "what happens over the next 10 to 12 days."
