The Giants have purchased the contract of top second base prospect Joe Panik from Triple-A Fresno, according to an ESPN.com report on Saturday.
Panik was the Giants' first-round pick and 29th selection overall in the 2011 draft. He was hitting .321 in 74 games with Fresno this season, with five home runs, 45 RBIs and 50 runs scored.
