If teams call the San Diego Padres about Carlos Quentin prior to the July 31 trade deadline, the veteran is open to waiving his no-trade clause, according to sources.

Quentin has a .637 OPS this season, 200 points below his .837 career mark.

Quentin makes $9.5 million this year, and is due $8 million next year, with a $10 million mutual option in 2016 that vests if he plays 360 over the 2013, 2014 and 2015 seasons.
