Rangers left-handed starting pitcher Martin Perez will have Tommy John surgery on Monday. Dr. Keith Meister, the Rangers' team physician, will handle the procedure.

Perez elected to have the surgery now so that he can immediately begin his rehab and try to return at some point during the 2015 season, according to an ESPN.com report.
