Cliff Lee was a teammate of Chris Davis with the Rangers for a portion of the 2010 season.

Lee made 15 starts for Texas in 2010, while Davis recorded just 120 at-bats.

Davis hit .192/.279/.292 with a single home run and four RBIs in spot duty. He has emerged as an elite power hitter since the Orioles acquired him in 2011. Davis leads baseball with 37 home runs and has a slash line of .315/.392/.717.

"I have to say that I am a little bit surprised that he's leading the league in home runs and he's hitting whatever he's hitting, but at the same time, his athleticism and potential was blatantly obvious when I played with him in Texas," Lee said of Davis.

"He looks like he could be a football player, but he moves around really well and his defense was unbelievable. I think just him getting more of an opportunity to play every day and getting comfortable with his situation has allowed him to blossom."
