Twins manager Ron Gardenhire got even more good news Saturday after his club beat the Detroit Tigers, 2-1, to move within three games of the American League Central leaders. Rookie phenom Francisco Liriano pitched three scoreless innings on a rehabilitation assignment for Class AAA Rochester on Saturday in an International League playoff contest. The lefthander allowed no hits and one walk while striking out four. He threw 25 of 40 pitches for strikes. "Everything went great (in Rochester) and they took him out of the game after 40 pitches, which is fine," Gardenhire said. "He was throwing the ball great, they said he felt really good.
